RCGG has supported two international projects in its history. Annually the Club supports the District 7930 Rotaplast mission, in 2007 to Columbia in February. See the link to Rotaplast International on our links page, and to read more about the District Missions go to the District website, also listed on our links page. In 2007 our President Lisa Collin went on the Rotaplast Mission to Perra, Columbia, where 173 procedures were performed in five days to change the lives of the children of Columbia. This is what Rotary is all about.
In honor of her trip and in honor of her hard work as Mission Historian, RCGG awarded Lisa the International Service pin and gave her a Paul Harris Fellowship Award. Lisa may be small, but she's mighty. She and the other incredible individuals on that mission know what it means to promote world peace and understanding.
In the four years of its existence RCGG has teamed with Distirict Clubs in support of matching grants applications from the Rotary Foundation. Our club has joined other clubs and districts to help raise almost $300 k in two projects. Both grants partnered with Pure Water For the World. For more information, please check out our links page. The latest contribution joined sufficient contributions to provide 1400 filters which will provide potable water to approximately 8300 people in Le Ceiba, Honduras.
